Dome Cover Gets A Facelift

Challenge:

Restore a delaminating, deteriorating dome cover at a local wastewater treatment plant.

Solution:

• Removed deteriorated coatings
• Cleaned the surface and prepared the dome for coating
  • Used a combination of waterblasting and sandblasting
• Laid an epoxy primer as a base, promoting adhesion to the UV resistant polyurethane top coat while ensuring long lasting protection

Results:

• After spot repairs and coating, this plant expects to get 10–15 more years out of dome cover
