Poor Floor Pitch Causes Sanitation Issues

Challenge:

Pitch the flooring towards recently adding drains to improve cleanability and sanitation.

Solution:

• Corrosion Resistant Products team called in to access the situation
• Floor was scarified to remove existing coatings and create a bonding profile
• Base coat consisted of a mesh reinforced flexible epoxy system to eliminate cracking from the vibration created by the dryers
• Epoxy mortar was trowel applied to various thicknesses to fill low areas and create pitch to the drains
• Epoxy sealer was then applied to create a non-skid surface

Results:

• Resolved the floor pitch issues
• Safer working conditions due to non-skid surface
• Minimal downtime — all work completed on a weekend
