Miller Leaman Thompson Strainer

The Thompson Strainer is a patented stainless steel strainer that utilizes a large conical screen to provide dramatically increased screen surface area compared to typical basket strainers and y-strainers. The Thompson Strainer also employs a unique bottom-up flow pattern that causes heavier particulates and debris to accelerate downward into a flushable reservoir at the strainer base.

High screen surface area and upward flow pattern allow these highly efficient stainless steel strainers to operate with less than 1 PSI pressure loss at maximum flow when clean. Thompson Strainers are suitable for an array of applications, with customizable mesh screens from approximately 50 microns to large perforated hole openings available. Instrumentation and rinse options are also available.

  • Greater screen surface area (vs. traditional strainer systems).
  • Less than 1 PSI pressure loss
  • Simple, compact, space-saving design.
  • Customizable mesh screens.

  • Cooling towers.
  • Municipal water.
  • Food and beverage (sanitary).
  • Wastewater treatment.
  • Chemical processing.
  • Mining and well water.

  • Inlet/Outlet SIzes from 2” to 14”.
  • Flow rates from 100 GPM to 4000 GPM.
  • Pressure ratings from 125 psi to 150 psi.
  • Screen surface area from 122 sq. in. to 2432 sq. in.
  • Standard duty screen sizes from 1003 microns (16 mesh) to 74 microns (200 mesh).
  • Heavy duty screen sizes from 112-117 microns (24x110 mesh) to 55-60 microns (50x250 mesh).
  • Perforated screen sizes from 1/4 inch to 5/64 inch.

Miller-Leaman manufactures three unique filtration products, a patented line of stainless steel liquid filters/strainers commonly known as the Thompson Filter/Strainer, the Helix Screen/Disc Series and the evolution of automatic disc filtration, the Turbo-Disc filter. These products are promoted in a variety of industries for agricultural and industrial use.
