Crane Engineering has announced a new partnership between its Fusion Pump Program and Vantage software. Crane’s Fusion program has been widely used among Georgia-Pacific manufacturing sites across the U.S. for the last 5 years. The program allows Georgia-Pacific to take advantage of standardized pricing by sourcing pumps and pump parts through one vendor instead of countless vendors across the country. Crane Engineering also provides technical support for fluid systems at each Georgia-Pacific location.
Vantage is EDI software that integrates with Ariba and provides seamless ordering and PO processing.
“To the person making the purchases, the process may not appear to be much different,” says President/CEO of Crane Engineering, Lance Crane. “But the impact this partnership will have on Georgia-Pacific’s procurement costs and service received, the change is quite significant.”
One of the biggest advantages buyers will notice is the automatic acknowledgement of orders. Buyers will no longer need to wait for notification that their order has been received. Because orders are being processed faster, they will be shipped faster as well.
Fusion Program Specialist, Keri Bauer, says she looks forward to focusing on the work that can’t be automatically processed. “Because MRO orders will process with little to no intervention from me, I’ll be able to focus more on generating the quotes Georgia-Pacific needs for projects, following up to ensure orders are being shipped on time, and answering questions from the sites.”
With the partnership between Crane Engineering and Vantage, Georgia-Pacific expects to realize significantly reduced procurement cost.
“Georgia-Pacific is the real winner here because this partnership lets them choose the support that they need,” says Terry Williams, National Fusion Account Manager. “This partnership delivers our technical expertise when they need it and the convenience of Vantage when they don’t.”
Crane Engineering encourages feedback from all Georgia-Pacific sites. Questions and concerns will be accepted by phone at 1-855-GPPUMPS, email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or online at www.craneengineering.net/fusion.
