Unilever’s Best Foods’ plant in Milwaukee, WI turned to Crane to engineer and install a specialized throttling valve used in metering ingredients for salad dressings.  Crane’s was to provide sanitary valves, pumps and fittings for the project. Crane Engineering’s project management staff played an instrumental role in keeping Unilever Best Foods’ Milwaukee plant project on schedule. 

“There are not many vendors as conscientious as Crane,” says Larry Burnell, process engineer at Best Foods’ New Jersey Technical Headquarters.  “Crane’s project engineers solved problems during the project which were not Crane’s fault, and stayed on secondary vendors to make sure all equipment arrived on time,” Burnell said. “To put it simply, Crane kept their promise for us.  We were able to start production on schedule, which is no small feat given the enormous project scope.”
