When Wallaby Yogurt’s Milk Preheater Failed, Crane Engineering
Jumped In and Kept Them Running
Wallaby Yogurt, Napa County, California, was born out of an adventure that began Down Under. It was during a trip through Australia that creators, Jerry and Faith, chanced across a deliciously distinctive yogurt. Today, what began as an Australian adventure continues in the form of Wallaby Yogurt Company. Wallaby Yogurt is available in many health food stores, co-op markets, and premium / natural supermarkets. Wallaby is also available nationwide in Whole Foods Market and Wild Oats.
During a production run, Wallaby suffered a catastrophic failure on the company’s milk preheater. Replacement parts were not readily available and Crane Engineering provided an immediate temporary solution. Crane installed a temporary jack support to close the plate heat exchanger until a new spindle screw arrived. “Crane brought us back online in time to prevent any loss in production. Crane understands the critical nature of continuous production and always responds with a high degree of urgency,” Wallaby Yogurt.

When Wallaby Yogurt added plant capacity, the company’s wastewater pump could no longer keep up. Crane Engineering resized the line and provided a new pump able to handle the new demands. Crane also installed a hub drain to assist the discharge from the plant. As a result, Wallaby’s CIP system is able to operate at the new capacity without interruption. “Crane always does a thorough job of evaluating a problem to ensure they recommend the right solution,” Wallaby Yogurt. |
